British Design Edition limited to 300 examples in U.S.
Buying a Jaguar doesn’t automatically make you British, but it does put you maybe a half-step closer to becoming 007. Still, if you really want to impress your friends, pick up the new F-Type British Design Edition.
The BDE is based on the F-Type S coupe and convertible, and comes in red, blue, white and black. It includes the Sport Design package that adds a fixed spoiler, body-color splitters, side sills, and rear bumper. The BDE also comes with 20-inch Cyclone wheels with a satin-gray finish.
Inside, the special F-Type has leather trim in red, ivory or Reims blue, BDE badges and carbon-fiber trim. An upgraded stereo system comes standard with 10 speakers; a 12-speaker setup can be chosen as well. Jag’s InControl infotainment system will also now work with the Apple Watch, putting your dreams of being Mr. Bond within reach.
Mechanically, the cars are the same as lesser F-Types except for uprated brakes, which Jag has aptly named the Super Performance Braking system. Its supercharged V6 makes 375 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque, and sends power through either a ZF six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic to the rear or all four wheels.
The Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition goes on sale next spring for $92,100. U.S. production is limited to 300 units.
